Populates form area with labels, using the 'unoccupied space' concept, instead of intersection. Any added item, while populating the screen, takes a cell from the 'unoccupied space', resulting in a much faster process than intersection. Press (any) more times, until the MaxObjectIndex is reached (or, when it's not possible to allocate more without collision). And then the question (from my earlier mail) would come (yes/no/cancel). The program would know from the first time, where to find the "unoccupied space". I guess this would take some kind of storing the occupied spaces or something if i should be able to use the code, it has to be done with (invisible) objects placed at design-time (100), not loaded :) I wish you many votes at PSC, i know you got mine ! /Gunnar. Put an icon in the system tray with popup menus without any ocx or dll. Updated to include the option of having your program be on top of all others, very simple to use. I'm not really worried about votes, but if this code helps someone new to Visual Basic I would like to hear a comment if it's not too much trouble.

This is a program that will let you show, hide, alter text, capture a picture, change the parent, kill, close, enable, disable, get info on, minimize, maximize, restore, capture a picture of, make them stay-on-top, send a message to, edit the window style, and flash the title bar on almost any target! The target can be selected by dragging the mouse from a button to the target or by entering a HWnd! It includes many more features and a complete help system. It also will list all the programs running on your system, will allow you to change their priorities, and will give you info on them too. The program can also perform a screen capture and can even highlight HWnds directly on the screen! It is excellent to learn by, and it's code is thoroughly commented and clean. Also, I would be grateful for any votes you feel fit to give me. I would appreciate them a lot, believe me!

This project downloads multiple files from the Internet(web) simutaneaously. I used multithreads to do it.       You can active up to 20 threads, that is, you can download 20 files at the same time. Or, you can specify how many threads are active to download files. It provides fast downloads.       Just drag and drop or copy and add URL(s) of web page(html page), image(graphic), mp3, zip or any binary/text file from a webbrowser and click Start! It supports http and ftp protocols.       You can open and save the list of download files(and save path) as a file(simple text file) and open the selected URL or downloaded file, using the popup menu which activates when you click the mouse right button on the list box.       The application window can be fully resized. When you exit the applicaition, it saves the form size and window position in the Windows registry. You can put the application window on the top which makes it easy to grab URLs from web browser. When you select or move the mouse over a download item on the list box, its save path will be shown in the status bar and list box tooltip.       I tried it can be a small complete application as I can. The zip file includes full source codes and an executable also.       This is my first upload to this great server. Many persons and their codes contributed to make my project. I really appreciate their efforts. I used and tried Winsock and Inet controls. They are good. But, finally, I found they are not suitable to just download multiple files as fast as possible.       I found I have to use multithread using an API download function. This project is the result of my efforts. I feel multi thread opens new horizon in my programming skills.       I hope my codes help you to control multi-thread or multitasking tasks when you need them.       Please, enjoy my code and program.

A simple program I wrote to print page numbers. This is the scenario, my 400 page project was thrown back at me with mistakes on 10 pages or so, and I have to reprint the page, ALONG with the page number ! It supports printing page number at the top of the page, at the bottom, and the 3 alignments, center,right,left. Support for auto increment page number in future, now I don't have the time for it... So if you guys really want it, just email me, and I'll have a reason to skip college h/w and do it, :P

This code uses the SystemParametersInfo API to change the work space area of the desktop. You can make you app 'lock' to either top/bottom/left or right of the screen very simply.

This will stop anyone from accessing your computer. Compile this into an exe and remember that the password is password - DO NOT forget. If you forget the password then there is no known way of getting back in. You have been WARNED!!! This works by: hiding your cursor so that the unauthorised doesn't know where it is, puts the cursor in the top left corner of the screen and makes it stay there, fools the system into thinking the screensaver is running therefore disabling Ctrl+Alt+Delete, Alt+Tab and the Windows Key. If you put in the password wrong 3 times the system is forcefully shutdown. There is no way of getting round this that I know of without having access to the system in the first place.

This code shows how to calculate loan payments and build an amortization table. It allows the user to include an additional payment, and calculates how much money is saved with the extra payment added. It will show you the total amount you will pay in interest over the life of the loan. The amortization table can be saved, modified, and printed. You can select a range of cells and copy them to the clipboard to be pasted into a different document. You can find what your monthly payment will be entering the loan amount, interest rate, and length of the loan or you can entering the a monthly payment, interest rate, and length of the loan and the application will tell you the total amount you can borrow. If you don't want to borrow but want to know how much you need to save each month to reach a goal, then this application will help you do that as well. It will even factor in cost of living increases. This application does require one custom ocx (vb5 & vb6 versions), which is included and needs to be registered before it can be used. This app creates a new button (top right) for each window. This button if clicked on sends the app and all it's threads to the system tray with the correct icon. If you right click on the button, a list of already minimized apps comes up and you can select one and it will be removed from the tray and back to normal (or you can click on the system tray.. either way). If you use it for a day or so, you won't be able to stop using it. I found a calc on PSC, Herman Lui´s, to which I added some functions. Such as, listbox to display your calculations/inputs, print receipt, ability to change layout during runtime. F-key, percentage-key, VAT-key functions. Allways on top. Help and aboutform. The objctive was that the user should be able to operate the calculator by using the keyboard. Of course the mouse works to. This Calculator is aslo included in my Financial Analysis App.

This is PageBalloon (v 1.1.6), its your very own desktop toy, you can chuck as many balloons onto your desktop as you desire, they are all skin mapped with ex acquaintances of mine. Its a must see, and a good screensaver replacement. they can wrap around the screen to float off the top and come up from the bottom again, they can also be kept ontop at all times. I have improved the movement function a little to cut processing time and speed it up.so download the code, comment on the code, and vote the code!!!

I am often guilty of saying to my wife that I'll be on the PC for half an hour... only to get a knock on the door 3 hours later!! Not a happy wife! This alarm clock is the perfect remedy. You set a date/time and it sits unobtrusively on the screen. At the specified dat/time it will raise a message and/or play a WAV and/or execute an app on the alarm time! It's also has some excellent functions in it for file exists, registry save/get setting, wav playing, captionless form drag, stay on top, etc, etc

This project demonstrates you how to build an alert box like MSN Messenger has. It is displayed in the bottom-right corner of your screen. When an alert is shown while another one is still visible, it is placed on top of the existing box. By moving the mousecursor over the text it appears as a hyperlink. And to get a little bit of the Microsoft feeling I've added a simple gradient found elsewhere on PSC.

NOT a beginners code I'm afraid. The game code itself is really intermediatary/beginner, but the graphics code uses a lot of api calls. The demo ai is fairly simple, but it's managed to get a top score so far of 240. My current best is a measly 170. Fully customisable, including play-area size, player starting and finishing speeds, ai speed (you can let it cheat). Oh yeah, please note that the ai enters it's own score unless you set it not to :) Any comments are welcome (so are any votes). Enjoy the code and feel free to use or distribute it.

This about screen scrolls text upwards, fading in at the bottom, and fading out at the top. You can insert this screen into any project as long as you also include the APIGraphics module.
