This project demonstrates you how to build an alert box like MSN Messenger has. It is displayed in the bottom-right corner of your screen. When an alert is shown while another one is still visible, it is placed on top of the existing box. By moving the mousecursor over the text it appears as a hyperlink. And to get a little bit of the Microsoft feeling I've added a simple gradient found elsewhere on PSC.

This is a decent example on how to skin a form. I made 10 skins and Commented every line in this project so you can see what's going on and how BitBlt works from top to bottom. If you don't know BitBlt that well or at all, this is a perfect example for you. Please RATE this and soon I'll make a v2.0 of this. It's A MP3 Player And has apart of the basic (Play, Stop, Pause) these functions: Add File Or Directory To Playlist, Remove (All) From Playlist, Load And Save Playlists, Keep On Top, Mute, System Info, Balance, Volume, Play: Random, Resume, Or stop after MP3 stopped. This is a must see. This project lets you Add objects to a form and lets the User move the object anywhere on it, I also made it so that the object couldn't be moved off of the form. You can also Rename or Delete the object by Right Clicking them. The best thing about this is that you and Load and Save the Objects to/from a .dat file, It saves each open Object's: Top position, Left position, Caption, and Visibility and then is able to load that info. This is a perfect example For you programmers who want to make a program that lets The user move objects around on the Form. This will stop anyone from accessing your computer. Compile this into an exe and remember that the password is password - DO NOT forget. If you forget the password then there is no known way of getting back in. You have been WARNED!!! This works by: hiding your cursor so that the unauthorised doesn't know where it is, puts the cursor in the top left corner of the screen and makes it stay there, fools the system into thinking the screensaver is running therefore disabling Ctrl+Alt+Delete, Alt+Tab and the Windows Key. If you put in the password wrong 3 times the system is forcefully shutdown. There is no way of getting round this that I know of without having access to the system in the first place.

With this first version of program, you can simply create a 2D map from the top view with mouse in a form and, with most option, you can convert this in 3D map and run away in. The program allow to create normal and transparent multy-color walls, floors, ceilings and you can add .x , .3ds object. Besides this program support Italian end english lenguage. A complete window manager. It captures any open window/application and returns the windows caption and handle (hWnd). The app let´s you hide, show, restore, minimize, maximize and close any open window or app. It also let´s you change the window or applications Titlebar to any text you like. It also makes it possible to change caption of controls belonging to any open application. Newly added: You can make any window "Stay on top" or Enable/Disable it to make it reject any input by the user or other apps. There´s also a function wich shows if the selected window is responding or not. It´s also capable of hiding or disabling the Taskbar, Taskbar Task List, System Tray, System Clock, Quicklaunch and the Start button.

This project is very small. It just shows the taskbars' position on the screen (in twips) and it's Left, Right, Top and Bottom values. It returns these in a RECT structure.

KaZaA Client is a program that lets you change your KaZaA download directory as fast as you can drag and drop. Simply drag the icon of the directory you wish KaZaA to download to on top of KaZaA Client and presto! There aren't very many new features in KaZaA Client. A few would be: A fully functional favorites menu. It also now works with KazaALite (and Speed Up), you may now choose to ignore/unignore all KaZaA users, edit your max search results, choose whether you want KazaA Client to launch KaZaA when it's ran, see how many files are currently being downloaded, and enable/disable sharing with other users.

This creates 7 bouncing balls that follow your cursor around the screen. The balls behave as if joined together with an elastic band - they stretch and bounce of the edges of the screen while following the pointer. Full source code is included. This code restrict the window size using a subclassing dll (Created by people from www.vbaccelerator.com). It consumes the WM_GETMINMAXINFO message. You can restrict the minimum and maximum tracking width and height. Also, you can restrict the maximized window left, top, height, width. I've wrote the code in a class for reuse.

I have added a lot more features that the old Screen Post didn't have. This user control has 62 easy to use API controls within it. This program, DragonBall Browser by name, is a complete webbrowser with most of the functions you would ever hope to find in one. From Print Preview to a Favorites Manager, this browser has everything. It uses the Microsoft provided WebBrowser control. Originally intended to be sold to www.pojo.com (hence the startup home page), this 'DragonBall Browser' has all the practical features. This program has many things to learn from it. First of all it demonstrates many web browser features, including some innovative ones - Saving pages as HTML files, printing, print preview, page setup, read from cache (less load time), write to cache (for reading later on), enable / disable popups (popular with advertisement sites), work online / offline, choosing interface font, saving / reading all these settings into a .ini file, favorites menu with save feature to .dbz files, visit home page, includes quick links to popular websites (additional ones can be added with ease), view source on a webpage, retrieve web page properties, navigate to sites (choose to open in a new window), refresh site (full refresh, standard refresh, or quick, expire refresh), stop, back, and forward. On top of these concepts, the user familiarizes himself with the WebBrowser controls, resizing window (and therefore control sizes), using the Toolbar and Imagelist controls, and using the status bar control.

I origanally started this with the question can I recreate Allaire's ColdFusion Editor? Well the answer is Almost... Mostly customizable has tons of features including. ftp,ini creation deletion,richtextbox manipulation,saving files undo,redo,api's,splash srceen,all the usual editor capabilities. Do you hate trying to remember fields in your database? Do you wish you could view/modify your data on a mainframe using an access-like interface? Well now you can! DataFX2 allows you to open any ODBC data source and view the contents of the database. The fields will be displayed in a list from which you can drag and drop right into your code! Never have to remember or type those long field names again! Whats even better is that you can open a table and add, delete, and modify data in a simple access-like interface. And every window has the stay on top or fall behind feature which allows you to make a window always appear in front of other windows so you can view your field names and data while you are coding. On the datasheet, you can filter records using SQL. One of the nicest thing about this program is that it shows you how to prompt the user with the ODBC data source dialog window (I couldn't find this anywhere on PSC). The program also has the ability to open databases using either ADO OR DAO!!! The recent file list also keeps track of which databases or datasources you have recently opened so you can quickly open a frequently used datasource. The recent file menu shows which items are ADO or DAO. Another nice thing about this project is that its a good way for beginners to compare ADO to DAO because almost every line of ADO code has the DAO equivilent below it. The program is also commented and easy to read. Please leave comments and suggestions!

Ever be in the middle of coding a program and you forgot the name of a field in your database? You had to open MS Access, find the database, open the table and get the name of the field. Then you had to go back to VB. Well this program gets rid of all that hassel. You start the program, open the database and it stays on top. It displays all of the fields and tables as well as field types and properties. It will also allow you to modify information in the database. No more going back and forth, just put it off to the side and all the info is right there.
