Access sim card/phone to read, delete, copy, export phonebook entries and sms messages and also send a sms to the limit of 320 characters to another cellphone user. Read the signal strength of the cellphone/modem. The readmefirst.txt has a detailed explaination of what the gsm.ocx does in detail. You connect to a modem via a comm port and most of the operations are via AT commands. A timer is used to get the result of the modem and results are returned via same function eg. gsm.PhoneBook_ListView will list your sim card/cellphone phonebook entries to the named listview and PhoneBook_Export will export your sim card / phone phone book entries to a csv file. Experience it for yourself and please dont forget to vote. This code does not use a compiled ocx but the GSM.ocx has been developed purely for handling almost everything about communication with the sim card / phone.
Updated ---(09-19-2007)--- This program is a combination of a few processes combined into one project. The idea was to develop an automated uncrackable (yeah right;) software registration process. I decided to use the serial number of the client's hard drive as the registration method, but I needed to embed this within the actual distributed executable. My solution (which is a work in progress), was to construct an autoresponder which would search for a subject keyword with the serial number. Write this to a module, re-compile the program with the module. Then, zip the executable using Winzip and finally email this back to the client. A help file is included. I've borrowed from a number of sources to get the autoresponder to work properly. You can also launch your default email program and the help file shows how to included a Send/Receive to Outlook if it is present and referenced. I've also added the ability to send the client emails using a web portal thus avoiding smtp on the registrant end and this asp is included. Finally, I've added sampling the MAC address of the ethernet card to the registration process. The only way that I could do this on my computer was by parsing ipconfig.exe /all as the other methods didn't work...Oops, I fixed a little error that I missed.

Another project using my c32bppDIB classes. This is a custom image list that supports alpha images and has one neat property that haven't seen before. This custom image list control can be made part of your custom usercontrol so you don't have to ship 2 different controls. Two sample projects are included in zip, so unzip with "Use Folders" checked. Some highlights: supports alpha images, mulitple image sizes, allows scaling when adding to imagelists, and many more. I am planning on using this for multiple custom controls in the near future. Still have some things that I want this to do or be compatible with. I am not completely done with this project but offer it to you for your suggestions and comments.
Alright, I know there are lots of these but the ones I found dont work so here is a working one. This uses only winsock to do all its parsing, it sends a packet request to whatismyip.com and saves the html returned. Then it finds where the ip address is located and parses it out. Now it also decodes the ip address since whatismyip seems to have encoded the ip address for what ever reason. When its done (usually in less then a second) it calls GotPublicIP(IP as string) inside that sub you can make it do whatever you wanted the internet or public ip address for. To use simply call GetPublicIP() and place code for what to do with the public IP in GotPublicIP(IP as string) under this function the variable IP is the public ip address, you can also use the PublicIPAddress variable both contain the same thing. A simple tool for decoding resistor colour codes. I made this just because someone recently submitted a complex *text* based application (with no colours!) to do the same thing. There are a few of these already here on PSC but all the ones I looked at still used drop down combo boxes to select the name (thats still text!) of the colour. Thomas, I hope its ok that I borrowed your resistor.

When adding images to a RichTextBox ever notice you can only add text to the same line at the bottom side of a picture. Fill in that blank space next to pictures with formated text in a RichextBox. This takes the formated text you type and adds it as picture at your cursor position.

It is a simple application that can connect to any database of MS-SQLServer 2000, and can get and store pictures in the specified tables of that database.
Basically it is just a telephone numbers directory. You can search for people whose birthdays are fall inside a range of Date so that you could call/send SMS to them to wish them :-). Support Chinese name as other name. Use MS Access 2000 database with password protected. Auto compact database and update birthday when unloading the program. Auto resize MSFlexgrid column width when vertical scrollbar appeared. Use text file for simple program settings and write error log. Easy to use First, Previous, Next and Last records and string Find function. Easy to Add, Save, Edit/Update and Delete records using Hotkeys. Updated 12 October 2007: Leap year bug fixed and also show age in MSFlexgrid. Support empty birth date whether only Day or Month or Year is inserted or combination of 2 or 3 entries. Use Dateserial function to fix date problem. P/S: Searching birthday records stored inside a database is not easy. I hope this program could help someone who are looking for an idea to solve the problem.

Min Branch = Specifies the minimum randomized branches. Max Branch = Specifies the maximum randomized branches. Min Length = Specifies the minimum randomized length of each branch Max Length = Specifies the maximum randomized length of each branch The recursive function somewhat reflects the concept of a tree structure. So, the size of the brush depends on the length per branch...
Generic thunk class added. Using it will negate crash described below and can be used to start GDI+... GDI+ when not shut down properly can crash IDE (maybe XP only. See comments below on test results). For those of you that use unsafe subclassing while in IDE, this effect is very familiar. Read the article below and to test a crash, you can run the zipped project. I, and others, can replicate the crash every time on XP Pro. May be a DLL version issue, may be something else.
