This article will show you some simple techniques to add flicker-free form resizing of a sizable form, when there is a minimum size limit controlled by the form's Resize event, and the user tries to change the size. Normally, this flicker makes some people wonder if the program is buggy. This article has also grown since its first release. Additional enhancements include simple API calls to make the resizing even smoother, and tops it off with a beginner's introduction to Call-Back functions, where one can intercept the Windows Message Processor (WndProc) for their form and force the form not to resize below specified dimensions.
A list with multiple columns. Multiselect, drag'n'drop item reordering, icons with alpha (LaVolpe's 32bpp dib), checkboxes, simple sorting, own custom styles.
(24 Mar 2007 - Added .ColorAtCursor property) I've seen a lot of projects on PSC for scrolling large images and with the exception of Carles P.V.'s excellent submission at txtCodeId=30414, they all seem to involve slapping a couple of scrollbars on a VB PictureBox. Navigating large images by fumbling with scrollbars is very awkward, for me anyway. So just for fun (I have no use for this) I cooked up this little beastie. Its ClickNavigation feature provides a much faster [is 'instantly' fast enough for you? ;)], more natural way to navigate large images than anything I've seen so far on PSC. Features include: - Image display in either Normal or Stretched (display-to-fit) modes. - Aspect ratio may be optionally maintained in Stretched viewing mode. - Two image navigation modes are available for viewing large images - ClickNavigation and DragNavigation. ClickNavigation is a unique feature that displays entire image when the Ctrl key is held down, maintaining aspect ratio if mandated by the .KeepAspectRatio property. A rectangle outlines the portion of the image that's currently being displayed in Normal mode. Clicking on the image moves the rectangle, and when Normal view is reestablished by releasing Ctrl, the view is changed to the new coordinates. DragNavigation (which Carles features in his submission also) allows user to simply drag the image around in Normal mode until the desired area is in view. - Any portion of image can also be displayed via code using the .DisplayImage method, supplying the X and Y coordinates of the upper left hand corner of the image portion you wish to display. - Control can be used as a simple PictureBox replacement; image navigation can be disabled for straightforward image display (although image stretching and aspect ratio features are always available). Control is also a container as is the standard VB PictureBox. As always, constructive feedback is always welcome, and votes are always appreciated.

Unfortunately Collections do not expose the Keys of Items or the Index of Keys. So I made two little functions which return an Item's Key by Index -> Key = ItemKey(Index, Collection) - and vice versa -> Index = ItemIndex(Key, Collection). Download including samples on HowTo is only 2 kB.
Ibrowse is a multi tabbed webbrowser. It has so many feature uch as: 1.Block images. 2.Inbuilt tex taker. 3.Favourites. 4.Quick shortcut. Please report any bugs. Lastly,if you like encurage me by voting me.
I just wanted to show how you can resize your form by using the "for each - next" methode. But when I was writing the code, I'd like to show any good solution why this code could be nice. I think you know the game "sensor". You have to play the same sounds like the computer plays. I'm not good in English but just have a look and tell me the level you reach :-)
Was tired of slow or inaccurate encryption i found on pscode so i made my own. I personnaly never saw anyone use this method and i personnaly never found something that fast on pscode. Basic but very fast and strong encryption. There is 5 "password" parameter. One for decal, one for a password, one for range, one for start and one for Pattern Repeat. Those Parameters actually draw the sinus algorithm. Use a lower decal for less characters repetition. Can encrypt 5 000 000 Chrs in 3 seconds. Of course it use the fastest way of dealing with data, bytes arrays. Please rate it and leave a comment :) Now complete project and sample on how to use this YOU CAN VISUALIZE THE ALGORITHM, THE DATA TO ENCRYPT, AND THE ENCRYPTED RESULT IN A GRAPH Take note that this encryption idea came from my mind after many hour of thinking. ###########REMEMBER TO COMPILE THE .EXE ###########ONCE COMPILED YOU WILL ENCRYPT 3X ###########FASTER UPDATES : -300% Faster -New Algorithm (Look a way more random) -Now can crypt file of ANY size even on a 16 mb ram computer -More statistics -Improved Graph method -New pre-loaded algorithm -Now going to 7,4mb per second on my computer on a 3.14gig file
This is not a direct replacement of the MonthView control included in mscomct2.ocx but serves the same function...and then some. Includes control that could be compiled in to OCX (but probably makes more sense to be included directly in your project). It also has FAR more events and control of colors. This was originally written for a small scheduling tool where I needed to include alarm events (shown in bold on the days where the events occur). Calendar control also includes font selection, week numbers, short day headings (S,M,T instead of Sun, Mon, Tue), removal today circle, first day of week selection, right click enable, next month, last month buttons and date scroll control. *UPDATED March 9,2007* Should work with dd/mm/yyyy formats. For some unknown reason, some regions don't like the size of the fonts!?!? Absolutely no idea what that's about.
When I work on the Internet I always forget the food on the cooker until it burns out so I decided to make this Alarm to remind me with the food - it is clear from its name it is a speeking Alarm - this update without dependency as per your comment
Update 3 New Skin Vista Aero Glass In 2007 In The Site. MSLE Code 2007.
ucTimer is a self-subclassed API timer control which is polymorphic to the native VB Timer control. This drop in place control provides all the functionality of the native control, along with setting of process priority and timer directionality (i.e. CountUp or CountDown). This UserControl, which was loosely fashioned after the count down timer of ucMsgBox (PCSID: 67387), is an attempt to solve the single file issues described in Paul Mathers VB Timer submission (PCSID: 3596). Hope this is of use.…..Enjoy! TerriTop

Quicksort which works by sorting string pointers only instead of the strings themselves. In particular for long strings around 1000 chars there is a 15 times improvement in speed, going up to 100 times for really long strings, and speed is almost indepent of string length; one million strings are sorted in under five seconds. For short strings below 10 chars or so speeds are more or less identical. The screenshot shows the compiled timing.
March 26 - Added a library check for gdiplus. March 25 - Added gdiplus routine allowing icons with alpha channels to be drawn without need for a manifest, making 32b alpha icons available on any OS with gdiplus installed. March 18 - Fixed some issues with the property page and example, and uploaded the new version. Add multiple, integrated 32 bit image lists with property pages to any usercontrol with this class/property page, and just a couple of simple steps. I will be adding this code to the grid project and thought I'd provide a simple demo..
Turn your VB5/6 Application into a WINDOWS SERVICE that can run in the background without you even logging into your computer - just like Anti-Virus applications do! Enclosed are two demonstrations of what you can do... one being a CPU monitor (mainly to show you how to interact with services using the MS Windows Service Manager) and the second being a very simple web server - BOTH projects are from PSC and were mildly updated to become services! (See the enclosed README for author credits and links.) Included with this project is the source and compiled control (Again, see the README for instructions.) The source for the VB projects should be rather straight-forward (the sections where we've added service control are commented - the 3rd party apps; please see their postings here at PSC.) Q: Why do I need a custom control to create services within VB? A: Visual Basic (prior to .NET) has no ability for VB to communicate properly with the Windows Service Manager on a stable framework. Worse yet, for those of you accustomed to using NtSVC from Microsoft years ago you've found that it crashes when you try to use sub-classing in your application. Control Source: Basic image files and such have been removed to ensure the smallest possible download. Should you wish to re-create the sources, see the resource file for the file names of the images needed and create your own!
