This is a simple generic wrapper class to quickly general ADODB Connection strings, including password protected files & shaped recordsets. I've only needed support for Jet & xbase files so that's all I've included. Please feel free to expand and post them as long as I get a copy of any changes.

I was in need of certain application that can store data in to the database and the database is stored on the Web.. And I want it without XML. I asked many people that how Audiogalaxy and Napster are doing those all the things.. they told they are using such service like XML or other.. But I don't want to use XML. So I develope application for me.. It is really very easy to use and also very easy to develope.. This is made with Visual Basic and simple codes of ASP. Must See this code.. and please vote for it.. NOTE: Now probleme is that, that I am not able to get data from the web. If any one can do it.. please let me know..

Populating a standard combo box with data from a recordset of 15,000 records or more seems to take forever. I used API calls instead of the AddItem method and my test results shows my function is at least 3 times faster than the AddItem Method. This download does not come with a database file, so if you'd like to test it then provide your own db. Please post the number of records in your ADODB recordset object, the time it takes to populate the combo box with the Additem method (just uncomment a line in my test project, it comes with a timer), and the time it takes using my RecsetToCombo function which is made up of a couple of API calls.

A perfect example of using an Access database. With these example, you can add, delete, moving in the database. All validation is done. Use PageUp and PageDown to seek records. Very nice interface. Version 1.0.13: added some error handlign. NEW! Added functionality: now it works also with password protected access databases. Update your new database from your old database at amazing speed. The program updates all the tables from the old database to the new one. If you find anything faster than this please let us know. Enjoy

This little bit of code and table will help you manage tables with linked/split databases. Currently it only handles MDB or Access databases, but it would be a simple task to set it up to handle other types of tables. Basically, with this little code, you can Import a table from another DB, Export and then LINK to data from Current db to another db, or Link to external data in another Db all automatically just by setting the tables in the MOVETABLES table. I'm also going to add some features that will allow you to "upgrade" an external data table with a new Structure for those of you who make a new front end and also change the structure of the back end but you don't have access to the production version of the back end for whatever reason. Should be up sometime today.

I used this class for well over 2 years. It is easy. It comes with a simple program that show you how to use it. I am sure that once you will know how it is working that you will adopt it.

Here are two functions that will allow you to read and write a Large Binary Object (BLOB) to and from a database. This could be used to store and retrieve images, documents, etc inside the database it self. This is great for those of use that have a lot of Binary files around that we want to keep in a central place that can be backed up and protected with the same security that a database offers. This code will work with *ANY* database that ADO can connect to.

VBRSGen is a handy VB 6.0 Add-In that creates formatted ADO/DAO recordset and SQL code from Access database tables and queries. Generates variables, sets objects, etc. Also includes a simple "Where" clause creator tool and a results preview grid. Code is ready to paste from the Clipboard or Notepad. Some SQL statements aren't parsed properly, but these can be easily edited; this still saves a lot of time in repetitive ADO/DAO database coding. I'm making this available elsewhere as shareware for $20, but because the PSC community has provided so much invaluable support and helpful code, feel free to download the open source code here for your own personal use at no charge! Thanks to Collin McAllister for the 7/13/1999 submission this is based on!! A visual adhoc query form that allows multiple criteria selections and simple joins. A simple (limited) somewhat user friendly way to create simple queries.

VB module to read and store ANY kind of picture file pictureboxes support into a database, it's easy and it's pretty fast... please, rate it, any comments are wellcome
