Ecomposer is an application which will turn your keyboard into a synthesizer with 255 instruments. It is a very good code example of using MIDI in your aplication. It also shows how you can use DirectX api for input called DirectInput in your applications. you can record and playback the music. save the music in a file. record for 16 channels sperately and play back all of them together. with each channel having a different instrument. Besides all this it also uses genetic algorithms to create new music based on user created music. It is a good start to learn how genetic algorithms work.
This one must be one of the best free asp+flash applications over the NET. I searched for a good one and found no good examples on the net . So I made one. This is a mutithreaded application to discover MAC addresses on a network. It uses low level api functions to discover mac addresses of any network connected device. No NEED of WMI, NO NEED to be administrator. It will scan an entire subnet in less than 3 seconds!
It is a multithreaded ping application, at this stage at least. (the goal is to make a switch port mapper that gives you the port number and machine name on each swicth...). This application uses the clsPing class from Paulo dos santos silva modified to accept asynchronous read from the socket. I have written the application around to be multithreaded. It only accept a subnet name and will scan all the machine in this subnet reporting the response time and the DNS name.
