Paranoid - A Breakout Game

This is a very simple breakout game. when the ball hits the bat (base), whose movement is controlled by mouse, the ball bounces up and break the bricks. There is only one level in this game. The speed of the ball can be increased or decreased. The ball has three lives. I feel that this program will be helpful to the beginners who want to know about game programming, OOP (Object Oriented Programming), Basic File Handling, Graphics in C++ and mouse handling. Comments are very welcome.

  <p>If the mouse is moved, the <code>displaytip</code> function checks if

  example: a paragraph containing a link.) </em>The value of this attribute
  is set as <code>innerHTML</code> of the <code>tooltips</code> element.
  If no <code>tiptext</code> has been found, the <code>innerHTML</code> is

  <h3>Why this <em>unconventional</em> code writing style?</h3> 
  <p>To make the code as compact as possible, without having a messy code.
  A brief explanation:</p>

  This duality is because Netscape does not have the <code>window.event</code> object.
  I adapted this trick from http://www.javascriptkit.com/dhtmltutors/nsevents.shtml. First, the event object is stored in o. Then, the
  object that has fired the event is stored, again in o. In IE, this is <code>srcElement</code>;
  in Netscape, this is <code>target</code>.</p>
