The style of windows emulates of windows vista. This code is very simple the api uses of windows,SetLayeredWindowAttributes,CreateRoundRectRgn,etc..

The intent is to show a way usercontrols (compiled or not) can access their host's RES files, compiled or not. This project contains the main class which reads from compiled & uncompiled project's RES files. The usercontrol has a property page that displays RES file images during design time -- kinda niffty. Please don't ask for updates to the usercontrol, it is only a test project for the cResReader class. For you UC lovers, take this and run -- if you need some advice on this technique, ask away, I'm already about 2 months ahead of you I think.

Updated. Want a custom button usercontrol shell? I am re-thinking a custom button & this time thought I'd write a shell that I can reuse over & over again. The attached contains a primitive example of using the shell and also contains the shell in another subfolder you can copy to your VB template's folder so it shows up when you select to "Add a Custom Control" to your project. This is a complete application with adding, deleting, Editing, Printing in a very good format. It is an idle example for those persons who want to work with the SQL Server 2000 in backend and Visual Basic in front end. I did hard work on this application and I made it easiest process to connect the SQL Server and playing with data in a smooth and easy to understand way. No matter what kind of streaming media your into, this program is bound to become your best friend. It uses a fully user programmable INI database to store and recall any streaming media that your into. Its capable of delivering eather audio or video, capable of even going full screen windowless video. Uses Windows Media Player 10. The next time you run into a hot webcam, radio stream or other media you now have a place to file it away for safe keeping. The programming focus was purely on functionality. I literally ripped this puppy out in one afternoon. Only possible limitations are users lack of ability to collect the streaming media links. Even though it only took one afternoon, it contains un-numerable hours studying the subject matter so it could be stored properly. Fully capable of being expanded upon to export XML or RSS. I sincerely hope everyone enjoys this baby !!!

A progress bar is a very temporary thing but still requires permanent space in a form. Wouldn't it be better to use a temporary space for it also? This project temporarily uses the system tray to display a customizable progress bar. Just include form fProgress and clsSystray with your project and set it's properties.
